Council Membership Elects Four New Trustees at 2004 Annual Membership Meeting

Boston, MA – January 15, 2004 – The Massachusetts Software Council announced at its 2004 annual meeting that Paul Egerman, chief executive officer of eScription, has been appointed as Chairman of the Council's Board of Trustees. Egerman will serve as Chairman for two years.

A software executive with broad-ranging experience as a successful entrepreneur and as a software developer for ambulatory health care environments, Egerman currently serves as the CEO of eScription, Inc., a Needham- based medical speech recognition company. He previously co-founded IDX Systems Corporation, a health care information system company with over 3,000 employees. Egerman was named Inc Magazine's "Entrepreneur of the Year" in 1991.

An MIT graduate, Egerman has a strong interest in supporting the advancement of computers and technology in education. Egerman, who is involved with a number of community organizations, is a vice-chairman of the Museum of Science.

In addition to the announcement of Egerman as Chairman, the Council also announced the appointment of George Bell, president and chief executive officer of Upromise, as vice chair; Kija Kim, president of Harvard Design & Mapping, as secretary; and Jim Daniell, president of Integrated Fuel Cell Technologies, as treasurer.

Landry delivered his predictions for the year's hottest technologies, including storage, wireless networks, standards and tools. "It will be a big year for technology in some unexpected sectors, including the overhauls of the PC."
