This program is sponsored by: Silicon Valley Bank and Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault

Join us for an informative program focused on strategies and tactics for attracting and effectively communicating with Investors. For this first installment of our Access to Capital series, we have assembled two distinct panels of speakers, so that we can address this important topic from both sides of the aisle.

Our first panel includes several software company CEOs, each of whom has led their current and former companies through several rounds of capital raising - including recently closed transactions. These panelists will explore critical factors that enabled them to attract investors and drive the process through to completion. Learn how these successful CEOs identified, targeted and approached appropriate investor groups; how they not only built value at their enterprises, but successfully highlighted and demonstrated that value to outside investors.

After a networking break, the program will resume with a panel of angel and venture capital investors. This panel will share with you their perspective on the myriad factors that affect their investment decisions: strength of the management team, stage of development, market size, technology risk, competitive landscape, and protectible IP. What is the relative importance of these factors . . . and how or when should this information be conveyed to the investor? From the basic "go or no go" decision to the arguably more subjective issue of valuation, learn what these experienced investors look for and where they look for it.

The program will be moderated by Michael Conza, Partner, Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault. Panelists will include:

  • Steven Kane, CEO, GameLogic
  • Swapnil Shah, CEO, mValent
  • Yonald Chery, CEO, Mok3
  • Woody Benson, Principal, Lazard Technology Partners
  • Lou Volpe, Managing General Partner, Kodiak Venture Partners
  • George Emmanuel, Managing Director, Hub Angels Investment Group
  • Mike MacKeen, Private Capital Group, Revolution Partners
